If you remember Ossa, you probably won’t admit it in mixed company. They were Spanish bikes that were ridden by the likes of Marty Motes, Dick Mann and Barry Higgins about a zillion years ago. At the EICMA show in Italy, the name, at least, made a comeback. A new 250 trails bike was shown for the first time and it shows some interesting technology. With a backwards, rear-tiled cylinder and fuel injection, it’s sort of a two-stroke version of the new Yamaha YZ450F. On the other side of the hall, TM was showing off a machine that has shown great promise on the motocross GP circuit. The 250F features a new motor in a lightweight aluminum chassis. No American distributor is on line yet. But maybe soon.
There's always drama when the sheet is pulled off a new bike. Or an old one.
TM's new 250F has proven competitive on the world stage.
