Yoshimura's James Stewart scores a 2nd Overall in the 450's and Eli Tomac does the same in the 250's
AMA Motocross. Buchanan, MI

A star-spangled motocross weekend at the famous "Rrreeedd Buuudd" motocross facility in Buchanan, Michigan. Motocross fans and racers made their way to the famous Midwest track, for the July 4th weekend free-for-all.

In the 250 Class Moto 1, Wil Hahn grabbed his 4th holeshot this season aboard the Yoshimura-backed GEICO Honda machine, followed closely by teammate Eli Tomac. It would be Tomac that would take over the early lead, and remain out front the entire race. He put a solid gap over the rest of the field, and won with a considerable margin of victory. It came as no surprise, as Eli Tomac was the fastest in 250 Practice at Red Bud. In Moto 2, it would be Zach Osborne's time to shine. The Yoshimura-powered GEICO Honda machine would again grab a magnificent holeshot - this time it was the number 338 bike of Osborne. Eli Tomac would make the move around Osborne for the lead, but unfortunately for the duo, Tomac made a mistake that took both of them out, and handed the lead to Ken Roczen. Tomac would fight through the pack, moving up to 2nd, where he would finish the race. Eli Tomac would grab 2nd overall for the day, with Zach Osborne taking 5th overall. Teammates Justin Bogle and Wil Hahn would wrap up with 10th and 11th overall, respectively. The GEICO Squad of Tomac, Osborne, Bogle, and Hahn currently sit 2nd, 5th, 9th, and 17th, respectively, in the Championship points. A win next weekend for Tomac could easily make him the points leader.

Yoshimura Suzuki's James Stewart started Moto 1 inside the top 10. He worked his way to the front of the pack, where he battled it out inside the top 3. He was perfectly positioned to capitalize on Ryan Dungey's mistake, and take over the 2nd place position, where he would finish the race. James grabbed the Moto 2 holeshot, getting out with the early lead. He battled it out with Villopoto and Dungey, and would solidify a 2nd place finish after yet another crash from Dungey. With a very solid 2nd overall for the day, James Stewart is comfortably 5th place in the Championship points.

The Yoshimura-backed Muscle Milk Hondas of Justin Barcia and Trey Canard were donning the patriotic red white, and blue theme to pay homage to the spirit of the weekend. The bikes looked great, and equally solid were the rides of Barcia and Canard. They would both finish inside the top 5 overall. Justin Barcia got off to a rough start, and took a 9th in Moto 1, but improved in Moto 2 with a 4th. He netted 5th for the day. Canard beat out his teammate in Moto 1, and put the number 41 Honda machine in 4th. He took a 6th in Moto 2, which earned him a 4th overall. After Red Bud, Barcia and Canard still hold their 3rd and 4th places in the Championship points, respectively.

Yoshimura-backed RCH Suzuki rider Broc Tickle put on yet another ultra-consistent performance in the Midwest. He went 11-11 for an 8th overall. Broc's top 10 Red Bud finish assured his place in the Championship points, he sits comfortably in 8th.

Next weekend, Yoshimura riders head to beautiful Washougal, Washington for the 8th round of the 2013 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
