Mike Lafferty Earns his 70th Career Win at the Inyan Kara National
Enduro
Upton, WY – Factory Husaberg rider Mike Lafferty won
his 70th career win after finishing 1st at the sixth
round of the AMA National Enduro Series.
Lafferty came out swinging strong at the sixth round
to collect the first three special test wins aboard his Husaberg TE250. He
continued to hold a solid pace through the remaining sections and was able to
clinch his 70th career win with a 15 second lead over the 2nd
place ride of Russell Bobbitt.
“I am really excited to get this win,” stated
Lafferty. “I haven’t won a race since 2010 so it has been long overdue. I was
able to start with a win in the first section and carry that momentum through
to the last test. I am really comfortable with the terrain at the next two
national enduros and hope that I can remain consistent and hopefully close the
point gap in the series standings.”
Lafferty’s teammate, Nick Fahringer, also had a strong
showing at the Inyan Kara National Enduro as he collected 3rd
overall at the race. Fahringer put together his best ride of the season and
even took the test win at the most challenging race of the day. His 3rd
place result marks his first podium finish of the 2012 season.
“I felt much stronger at this race than the previous
rounds,” remarked Fahringer. “I have been making great improvements at each
round this season and am happy to finally get on the podium. I am looking
forward to stepping it up at the next few rounds and hopefully moving up two
notches on the podium.”
